Historic District:

You can find a map of the New Chauncey Historical District here. When applying for a building permit with in the historical district, please note that plans will need to be submitted to the Department of Development along with a Certificate of Appropriateness Application to be review by the Historic Preservation Committee. the Building Department will not issue a building permit until the project is approved by the Historic Preservation Committee. Please contact the Department of Development at (765) 775-5160 with any questions. 

Building Permit Fees:

Base Fee: $235.00 (includes plan review, three (3) inspections, and certification of occupancy), plus $2.00 per thousand of the estimated cost of construction.

The three (3) inspections included in the base fee are rough-in, permanent electric, and final. If any additional inspections are required, you will be charged $45.00 per inspection. 

Sewer Tap Permit Fees:

Sewer tap fees are based on the water meter size plus a $50.00 inspection fee. Click here to see the fee schedule. Depending on the location of the project, a utility service cost recovery fee may be added to the sewer tap permit fee.
