The following is a list of typical inspections. Inspection requests should be made at least one day in advance.

Please have your permit number when making an inspection request. Inspections may be scheduled by phone Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.

Footing and/or Foundation Inspection
Before the concrete is poured and erosion control measures are in place.

Sewer Tap Inspection - Call 775-5145 for an inspection.
Do not back fill the trench or tap/connection. No pea fill allowed.

Temporary Pole Inspection
Pole should be properly braced and grounded. Contractor will need to call the appropriate electrical utility once the temporary pole inspection has been approved.

Storm Water Drainage
Floor drains, footing drains, sump pits, manholes, laterals, ponds and outlets to drainage system before back fill.

Slab Inspection
Before the concrete is poured.

Rough-in Inspection (pre-drywall)
Electrical, plumbing, framing and insulation before drywall is applied.

Temporary to Main or Permanent Service Inspection
Panel box, grounding system, meter base set and connected, building lockable, and main water line bonded. Contractor will need to call the appropriate electrical utility once the permanent service inspection has been approved.

Conditional Certificate of Occupancy
When all work necessary for the safety, health and welfare of the occupants is completed. A Cashier's Check or Letter of Credit for 150% of the required work yet to be completed must be provided before a Conditional Certificate of Occupancy will be issued.

Landscaping - Call 775-5170 for an inspection.
Drainage swales, erosion control, green-space and trees are required by ordinance (see below for a copy of the Tree Manual).

Certificate of Occupancy - Final Inspection
When all work is complete, before the structure can be occupied.

No inspections will be performed unless an improvement location permit has been issued by the Building Department. A re-inspection fee will be assessed for a third (or more) inspection attempt.
