The West Lafayette Police Department can conduct an identification number check on vehicles or boat hulls.

There is a $5.00 fee required. Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles requires a certified police check to title or register certain vehicles.

This service can be obtained at the police department during regular business hours. West Lafayette residents may pay the fee during regular business hours at the police department and request an officer to perform elsewhere, if the vehicle is not driveable.
