For more than 20 years, our seasonal ice-skating rink has brought joy and laughter to our community. The rink, located outdoors at  Tapawingo Park, offers open skating from late November through early March.  There is a food/drink vending area, rental lockers, and public restrooms. The rink is a 120x70 foot oval.

Admission

• $7 per person per session
• $3 (tax included) skate rental
• $7 per pair skate sharpening
• Wednesday night is Family Night! Children 16 and under receive free skate rental with a paid adult admission

The Riverside Skating Center building closes 15 minutes after each skating session.

Rental Rates

Rental rates for the ice-skating rink are $225 (plus tax) per two-hour session for weekday use and $250 (plus tax) per two-hour session on the weekend, price does not include the cost of skate rental. The facility is available for rent when it is not open to the public. Call the West Lafayette Parks and Recreation office, (765) 775-5110, to reserve your rink time. Lessons

Why not sign up for private instruction? Private lessons are great for first-time skaters as well as those who are looking to improve specific skills. Lessons are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Click Here for a link to our program catalog in CivicRec where you can fill out a request form to get on our lesson waitlist, found under the Sports and Recreation tab.

• Private: $20 per 30 minutes
• Semi-private: $14 per person per 30 minutes

Drop-in Lessons
No reservations needed for our Drop-in Lessons, show up at 5:00 or 5:30 p.m. on Thursday's and we will have instructors ready and waiting. These lessons are geared towards beginners, attendance numbers will vary at each lesson.

Thursdays: Nov 30 - Dec 15 and Jan 4 - Feb 29
5:00-5:30 PM and 5:30 - 6:00 PM

Hockey

New for the 2023-2024 season, adult and youth hockey!  Register with your CivicRec account. 

• Youth Skills Clinic: Tuesday, November 28 to December 19 and January 9 to February 27
• Adult Pick-up Hockey: Wednesdays 9:15-10:15 p.m. and Sundays 9:00-10:00 a.m.
