"Car Seat Technicians"
  • The department has several Certified National Child Safety Seat Technicians available to install and check your car seats.
"Hazardous Materials Technicians"
  • Hazardous Materials Technicians use a risk-based response process to analyze problems involving hazardous materials/weapons of mass destruction (WMDs). They are trained to perform advanced control, containment, and confinement of hazardous material spills/releases and decontamination procedures.
"Rope Rescuer Technicians"
  • Rope Rescuer Technicians have obtained the knowledge and skill necessary to safely and competently perform rescues using rope equipment and rope systems. They are trained using ropes and systems in the art of rappelling and controlled ascent or descent. 
"Structural Collapse Rescuer Technicians"
  • Structural Collapse Rescuers have demonstrated competency in the necessary knowledge and skills to conduct a scene size-up, identify types of construction and characteristics to assess rescue needs, identify potential victims, develop, and implement an incident action plan, apply search techniques, use marking systems, select and implement the use of appropriate PPE and collapse equipment to facilitate search and rescue operations.
 "Honor Guard"
  • The WLFD Honor Guard is dedicated to honoring fallen firefighters, their families, and department members, current and retired. Some Honor Guard member responsibilities include funeral details (current and retired members), funeral assistance for family members of WLFD members, Color Guard presentations, parades, and various other ceremonial functions.
